Themasap Khan

Dr. Themasap Khan, PhD, is a co-founder and Partner of Luma Group.

Themasap was previously a founding Associate at Civilization Ventures, a life sciences and health-tech firm. He joined near the inception of Fund II and helped raise and deploy capital into early-stage biotech and digital health companies from Series Seed to Series D. He was often first-money in and the lead investor in several early-stage biotech companies, and was involved in functions across scientific strategy, operations, business development and company financings. At Civilization Ventures, he founded and ran the firm’s Fellowship program.

Themasap has been an author on multiple scientific publications in Nature, Cell and other scientific journals. His research was focused on cancer biology, neuroscience and genomics – with a combined 10+ years spent in life science research labs.

Themasap received his Ph.D. from Stanford University where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and Stanford Graduate Fellow. Themasap earned his BS in Neuroscience from New York University.
